Sometimes you just have to bail on the geographic center of your life.

Unfortunately, I’m enveloped in the Midwest. I’m not certain if other regions have this problem… as I’m yet to hear friends from New York whine about having to go to the plethora of destinations, via train, for a weekend.
Anyway. Somehow I ended up staying in what could be called the shabbiest “executive suite” at the Ramada Inn, Waterloo, Iowa. Still, all said and done, getting away from one’s surroundings is immediately therapeutic. Through the perspective of a traveller, everything is of interest, every new construction is indicative of different lives, with different priorities.
